Elton Sawyer is a former American professional stock car racing driver who competed in the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series. He was born on September 26, 1959 in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Sawyer made his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series in 1989 and raced full-time in the series until 1997. He scored a career-best finish of fourth at Bristol Motor Speedway in 1995. Sawyer also competed in the Xfinity Series, where he achieved four wins, 46 top-five finishes, and 125 top-ten finishes.
After retiring from full-time racing, Sawyer transitioned into a career as a team owner and crew chief in the Xfinity Series. He served as a crew chief for several drivers, including his brother-in-law Elliott Sadler.
